BIOGRAPHY

Dori Luthy-Harrison is a ceramic artist living and working in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She graduated from the Emily Carr Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

Dori grew up in the prairies of Eastern South Dakota until she was 15, at which time she moved to England to live with her dad and step-mom. She finished high school and stayed and travelled for another 2 years around Europe.

She then returned to South Dakota to begin her formal studies in art at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, where she also met her future husband and his ranching family. All through University Dori had been focusing on painting and drawing in her studies, but in the last semester of her degree she took her first ceramics class. That introduction to clay changed everything. She graduated in 2000 with an Associate of Arts Degree and began working as a studio potter and teaching classes through the local art centre.

In 2002 Dori moved to the West Coast and began school at the Emily Carr Institute in Vancouver. In December 2004 she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a focus in ceramics.

Since completing her studies, Dori has moved into the Mergatroid Building in East Vancouver where she is creating her ceramic sculptures.
